Mustard seed – a story about faith

Matthew 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

There was an elderly lady who had to cross over a hill every time she wanted to go into town.

One day she read in the Bible that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to the mountain move and it will move. She thought to herself ‘surely my faith is bigger than a mustard seed’. With that in mind she decided to pray about the hill she had to cross all the time and said, “Lord please make this hill disappear by tomorrow morning when I have to go in town.”

In the morning, she jumped out of bed, opened the window and looked to see if the hill was still there. To her disappointment, the hill was still in its place as always. Bitterly she exclaimed: “I knew it was not going to move.” 🙁

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.“
